For Air Force Group X basic eligibility criteria is an aspirant should have finished his schooling and graduation is not compulsory. IAF Group X exam is conducted for technical students and Air Force Y group for non technical airmen openings in the force. CASB (Central Airmen Selection Board) is responsible for conduction, enrolment and selection of candidates. Central airmen Selection Board has 14 airmen selection centers situated all over India. Candidates who clears the exam has to undergo a Joint Basic Phase training of 12 weeks at the training institute located in Belgaum (Karnataka). After completing the training the candidates are selected for trades and again have to acquire training in the allotted trades. Once the training is over, theses trained airmen are deployed for ground based duties as per the allotted trades.
